Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud & IaaS

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic, multinational, industry-leading Cloud IT Systems Integrator based in Dubai.
You will oversee and manage the development and operation of the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) platform, including the private cloud environment. This role will involve leading key infrastructure projects, managing system performance, guiding technical teams, and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure the ongoing growth and success of the platform.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VMware cloud infrastructure management, automation, and technical leadership, and will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of storage (Netapp) and backup environments. In addition, you will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, coordinating with other teams, and providing pre-sales and post-sales assistance.
The cloud environment has a large footprint of Netapp including over 15 datacenter locations across the GCC.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Deal with L3 support escalations
• Configure and manage Large clustered ontap deployments 
• Oversee critical infrastructure projects related to cloud customer
• Monitor storage performance, integrity, and capacity planning.
• Continually review end-of-life/support hardware and software and implement necessary upgrades.
• Manage the backup environment, identifying and implementing continual improvements.
• Work closely with the security team to ensure corrective actions are implemented on time.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Security and Sales, to facilitate smooth operations and sales processes.
• Develop and implement automated tasks, monitoring their effectiveness and improving operational efficiency.
• Perform upgrades on key platforms related to Cloud and ensure smooth onboarding for new customers (Zerto).
• Provide guidance for on-premise technical activities and changes, including mentoring and managing junior System Engineering staff.
• Delegate systems maintenance tasks to junior staff and ensure the efficient running of day-to-day operations.
• Cover for infrastructure counterparts during their annual leave, ensuring continuity of services.
• Handle escalated infrastructure support issues, ensuring quick resolution of complex problems.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of systems, procedures, for customers

  
Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
• NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE).
• Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
