AI Lab Tech Lead

We are actively looking to hire an AI Lab Tech Lead for a global, industry-leading Technology & Strategy Consulting Firm. This is a remote role can be based in Jordan, Lebanon or Egypt.
As AI Lab Tech Lead you will act as the technical backbone of the AI Lab, owning architecture design, guiding technology choices, overseeing development quality, and providing technical project management and delivery oversight across projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define technical architecture for PoCs, internal tools, and software products
- Lead technology stack selection aligned with scalability, security, and AI/ML needs
- Ensure modular, reusable, and maintainable codebases across projects
- Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and progress tracking (Scrum or Kanban)
- Identify and mitigate technical risks early
- Coordinate across dev teams to ensure deliverables meet technical standards
- Guide AI/ML system design (e.g., RAG pipelines, LLM integration, model deployment)
- Review model pipelines, APIs, and productization approaches
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and Data Scientists on technical trade-offs
- Set DevOps direction for the lab and review project setups
- Define infrastructure blueprint for cloud deployments
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security practices
- Guide decisions on containerization, orchestration and scalable deployments.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers in both software and AI/ML disciplines.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
- Proficiency in technical project management and agile methodologies
- Strong communication skills
- Experience designing scalable, modular system architectures
- Hands-on proficiency in backend systems and frameworks (Python preferred)
- Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle, components and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain)
- Cloud-native development (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP is a plus)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, basic Kubernetes is a plus)
- Fundamentals of DevOps and security practices
- 8+ years in software/ML engineering
- 3+ years as Tech Lead, Architect or Senior Engineer with delivery oversight
- Practical AI/ML experience (e.g., deployed ML models, RAG pipelines, LLM fine-tuning)
- Track record of delivering technical projects
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Arabic & English communication skills essential
